Model 2026.10-v3
The live model is unchanged. Its scores have known false positives and missed AI writing. They must not be used as the sole basis for academic decisions.

How it works
Every file goes through the same pipeline. Nothing is stored at any step.
Drop a .docx, .pptx, .pdf or .txt file, or paste text.
Visible text, speaker notes and hidden text are separated.
Each text segment receives a model score for AI-writing patterns.
A reference range shows uncertainty measured on synthetic essay mixtures.
Traces, prompt injections and file metadata are checked.
Training status ·
We are expanding our English academic research collection. The checker still uses 2026.10-v3. The latest candidate has not passed our release requirements.

One known corrupt example was excluded before training. A further 150 + 150 documents were used in separate calibration stages. Training IDs, uncertainty and errors are recorded explicitly.
The 3,112 collection includes the 3,000-text benchmark and 112 long development documents; these are not all training examples. Benchmark labels are inherited and still need review. The latest training run used 2,399 documents after one exclusion. Pending jobs are instructions, not generated samples.
The long-document pilot includes human research articles and AI academic chapters from Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT. These genres are not fully matched, the AI sample is small and some outputs share a generation context. It is a development set, not a fresh final test.
The original model was reported as trained on 28,602 documents (10,236 human and 18,366 AI), with 123,709 paragraphs. These archived counts describe v3, not the new research collection. They have not been independently re-audited.

The latest candidate is not ready for release. These previously inspected test and development results show both missed AI writing and human false positives. They are not a fresh, independent measure of general accuracy.

Both rows use a model-score threshold of 0.5; the candidate uses its separate document score. A score is not the percentage of words written by AI. Zero errors among 100 human texts does not establish a negligible population risk.
A detector score cannot establish authorship. The scanner reports patterns it finds, including hidden instructions. Those patterns can also be quoted in legitimate academic work. Review the context and writing process before drawing conclusions.
The range comes from calibration on synthetic essay mixtures. The 98% target applies to that reference distribution, not to every uploaded document. A model score is not a measured percentage of AI-written words.
No. Files are read in memory, analysed and discarded when your report is sent. We do not build a database of student work and never train on uploads.
English. The model is trained on English writing by native speakers and English learners.
Yes. Students can check their own drafts and see which paragraphs might be questioned. We do not offer tools that rewrite AI text to avoid detection.
